All your head-scratching questions…answered!

When and where is your wedding?
May 23 from 5-7 p.m. ET. We’re getting married on the roof deck of our Brooklyn apartment building (by an officiant who will maintain proper social distancing) and then relocating indoors for our virtual reception. You’ll be able to watch live via Zoom.

How can I watch? Do I need a link?
To avoid random creepers, we’re not posting the link publicly. The link will be disseminated to guests via email. If you feel like you haven’t received all of the information, and you should have, shoot us an email: hello@elisaandpeter.com.

What is your hashtag? Is it as good as #TheBaguetteaway?
#YouMakeMyStreamsComeTrue.
So, no. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is this your real wedding?
Yes! We were planning an in-person event for the end of June, but made the decision to cancel it since no one really knows when it’ll be safe to have large gatherings again.

I’m not tech-savvy and I’m worried about missing something. Help!
If you’ve never used Zoom, download and install the application on your computer so you’re ready to go on the big day. Find instructions here. If you’ve used Zoom, you should be set. We will open our virtual “doors” at 4:30 p.m. for those who need a little help setting up. Once the wedding starts, you won’t need to do anything — the Zoom coordinators will “spotlight” the right moments so you see and hear everything.

Do I need to RSVP?
Yes, please. Knowing who’s planning to attend will help our Zoom team coordinate the live broadcast. Our RSVP page is password-protected, so if you have been invited and need access, drop us a line: hello@elisaandpeter.com.

If I live nearby, can I come in person?
While we’d love to say “the more the merrier,” and see your pretty faces, we cannot allow any guests to join us on the roof.

Can my kids join the fun?
Absolutely! They’ll love the dance party during our reception. We apologize in advance for any colorful language that might pepper our toasts and speeches. Your kids might also have fun getting creative with our wedding printables. Put them to work / get them out of your hair, and have them bang out some crafty party favors on your behalf!

Can I just say, y’all seem really into the whole Zoom wedding thing?
Since this is our best option at the moment, we are leaning allll the way in! We’re pretty bummed that our parents won’t be able to walk us down the aisle and that we won’t be able to hug and boogie and clink glasses with all of you in person — and of related importance, Elisa is devastated she has to do her own makeup — but we are focused on the special creative opportunities that a virtual wedding provides. (Like Zoom backgrounds — funnest!) Plus, we can’t wait to be husband and wife and make gushy heart-eyed promises to each other and celebrate and eat cake and take glam selfies. Those essential pieces of a wedding persist, even in a pandemic.

Is there a dress code?
Nope, but we’ll be dressed to the nines, so if you’ve been looking for an excuse to, say, dust off an old bridesmaids’ dress (!) OR step into a suit (from the waist up, of course), by all means! Tag your photos with our hashtag #YouMakeMyStreamsComeTrue so we can see your day-of ensembles.

Will there be a champagne toast?
No one has actually asked this question, but the answer is, “Yes!” The answer to champagne is always, “Yes!” So, keep your favorite bubbly handy, mix up one of our signature cocktails crafted by our friends and family, or sip your favorite soda, if that’s your thing. Our reception will include a couple of toasts so plan to cheers with us from afar — don’t be empty handed!

Where are you registered?
We respectfully ask guests to refrain from giving gifts. Your virtual presence is more than enough! You can read more about our stance here.

This is an exhaustively long list of questions and yet you didn’t answer mine. Please advise.
